Its bad enough that they carry crappy and overpriced grocery items, now, if you have to "go" while spending your hard earned money at their store, you have to pay. And have correct change too. If not then you have wait at the checkout to get change of get it at the customer service desk that rarely has someone tending it. It may be too late by that time, ya know!
Screw them, Ralphs lets you use theirs for free. I'm shopping their from now on.

2. Aldi's in the midwest does that as well ...
and they charge you for bags too ...

But their prices are so damned low that people dont grumble so loudly ...

Plus: they will lend you a quarter if you dont have one ...

I really dont mind this one ...

4. Your Vons stores let customers use the bathrooms?
At the one I frequent they will let you in if it's an emergency.

8. Mine doesn't have any signage directing the public to the restroom
You have to ask an employee.

5. If God had wanted us to have pay toilets,
we would all have been born with quarters.

(Feminist motto from back in the day when women had pay toilets and men didn't...but then it was dimes, not quarters.)

7. it is rare to find a public bathroom in a grocery store
I hate paying for toilets, but when I reconsider, it makes more sense than allowing some people to be free-loaders. However, as Arnold said on Happy Days: "you broke my lock? Why not you just crawl under like everyone else?"

9. I've been boycotting them since the lock-out here in So. Cal
last year. same with Ralphs and Albertsons. I havent found it hard since I've got Trader Joe's around, who have good ethics, better prices and better food.

13. This Vons is in SoCal. La Mesa.

10. That bites, but I prefer it 100x to self-check lines!
I'm boycotting Albertsons because of them. Particularly in my community. They went in almost immediatly after the labor dispute was "settled" last year. I hate them, utterly.

12. I would rather have to pay and have a bathroom available
then what a lot of stores do - no public restrooms
just make it public and let me pay
I understand it cost them
especially clean up after some of the people -
people are truly trashy
I see garbage on the ground within 10 feet of a garbage can -
