1. Have you explained the Canadian Walmart Situation
If you work for Walmart and fight for a Union they just close
the store.

3. Tell him about the meat dept. closings...
Wal-Mart meat cutters in ONE store voted to unionize, and as a result, Wal-Mart fired ALL meat cutters in all their stores and bought prepackaged meat instead.

I haven't checked this site out much, but I got an email from this group and I bookmarked the site. It might have some facts about Wal Mart.

Here is a DU thread about a bill in Montana about taxing stores like Wal Mart to help pay for the social programs that their workers need to survive on the low wages.

From my personal view. Wal Mart is so big that when it has a store in a community it hurts the local economy by taking customers from the local hardware store, the local grocery store, the local bakery, the local greenhouse, the local music store, the local electronics store, and on and on. Eventually all of these stores will go out of business, leaving only Wal Mart will be there. When people shop at Wal Mart, the profits head out of town. In contrast when they shop at the local stores, the profits stay in town and can be spent on nicer housing, building the local tax base, and making the community stronger.
