9. Hmmmmm Cajuns..... I have a friend named Thibadeaux... and
he gets sorta crazed when feriners refer to him as Thy-Bi-Ducks... really. You must be in the lower part of the country. Don't hear the word Cajun too often.
but I used to live in Lafayette (I peeked at your profile) for a couple of years when I was in the oilfield. I remember all the buses with "Geaux Cajuns" (GO Cajuns for everybody else) in honor of USL's team nickname. I do remember hearing Acadian more than cajun, but I heard "coon ass" more than anything. It took me awhile to figure out what THAT meant.
You totally can NOT use "coon ass" outside of Louisiana (and small parts of TX and Misssissippi) without it being completely misunderstood.
Here's a question for you; if you guys ever got a blizzard, would you call it a "Sneaux storm?" ;)
11. Well... I'm a transplant... I imagine they would find some way to use
the snow for cooking.... and give it a funny name... maybe Snowbleaux Gumbeaux... or someting like dat. Don't mind it, nice people for the most part.... have chipped off my rough corners and am fitting in a wee bit better now.
