A wacko Repuke pissed me off at work tonight.
I took the high road and refused to engage even thought he was being an aggressive, delusional ass-face. After all, we were at work. He got in trouble with the boss (also a Republican, but fair enough) and I did not, since I kept trying to get away from him while he ranted.

I am livid, and need you guys to console me. I wanted SO badly to go off on him, but have enough respect for my co-workers and my job to not get into it while doing business.

So now, I am at home seething.

1. He got in trouble with the boss?
There should be a certain amount of satisfaction in that.

2. Yeah - a little...
He basically just got a firm talking to, but not a kick in the ass, which I would have preferred.

:spank:

I am still livid over the horrendous things he was saying - all sorts of filthy typical Repuke lies - all the canned rhetoric from the election. I wanted to tear him a new ass, but I couldn't do that on the job - and he took advantage of the fact that I was not going to get into it, and kept getting in my face.

Grrrr.

I lose sleep over this - I really detest abusive people.

3. His punishment is having to be himself. I'd bet his
behavior extends to his personal life. There can't be too many people who like him there, either. I'd also bet that you have way more friends. Now, I wonder why? ;)

10. Thanks...
:-)

He really must be very unhappy and uptight, I suspect.

4. Sun Tzu - Art of War
Use his techniques to deceptively undermine your coworker jackass. Manipulate the situation in the background and get his ass fired by pressing his buttons the right way.

12. I like that...
...but even having to talk to his delusional ass makes my skin crawl.

7. My advice is to ignore him and avoid him as much as
possible. I also suspect his days in his job are numbered. Above all, don't let him pull you down with him by getting into arguments at work.

13. Luckily -
He works off-site most of the time, so our meetings are few and far between. Now that I know what a creep he is, I will take measures to avoid him at all costs.

5. It may be difficult to do, but just let it slide off your back
- there's just no reasoning with gung-ho uber-patriot Repukes like that. Just look at him with a good dose of pity, like you would a cow with "mad cow" disease - it's incurable, so Nature has to take its course.

One day he may see the light, but don't hold your breath.

8. I really think...
...this one is too far gone. He repeated ALL the evangelical talking points ad nauseum...it was like listening to Rush - so rehearsed, so canned.

So SAD.

11. When he starts again
look at him, shake your head and give a sad, sweet smile. Watch him melt down and the boss give him more than a firm talking to.

14. HAHAHAHAHA
I'm afraid when I try to smile at him, I might vomit into my mouth just a little bit.

16. That's what'll make it a 'sad' smile.

19. I would add:
Then walk away, flashing him a peace sign (and sneak a peek to see the steam coming out of his ears -- the peace sign makes them crazy, which I find hilarious).

22. Ohh...I didn't know that!
They hate the peace sign? Hmmm...how could anyone hate peace? I guess that's like the Repuke in my neighborhood who drives a truck with a sticker of Calvin pissing on the word "Environmentalists." My husband just stops, shakes his head and says, incredulously, "He hates the EARTH!!??"

That about sums these people up - they hate everything, even the planet they live on, it would seem.

15. Most of them ARE too far gone

It's like a sick cult.

6. You did the right thing
Keep your job, its a tough job market out there.

Your co-worker will do himself in with his boorish behavior, just wait it out until he does.

9. I hope so!
He usually works off-site, so luckily, I don't see him often, but NEVER would be even better.

20. I stopped arguing with them at work
The last time one of them went off, I smiled, and began clapping, louder and louder. Then I congratulated him on his perfect imitation of Rush Limpballs. Said he deserved an Oscar. No really. Great job. Kept clapping until he just walked away.

No point in arguing with the un-brained.

I find sarcasm and derision is the best.

21. Now THAT is funny.
I feel a lot better now. I will do that from now on, I think. I am STILL stewing today about that asshole, and my poor husband is like "OK, seriously, next time that creep comes near you tell him to fuck off, go completely off on him, and if you get fired, I'll pay the bills for a while!"

While I don't think I'll do that, the clapping and the "Rush Limpballs" comment is priceless!!!

It's a perfect strategy - the clapping drowns them out, and the inference to Rush nullifies all their canned rhetoric, and renders it useless parroting. If he keeps talking, I'll clap loudly and maniacally, and this will draw my boss over. Then I'll explain that I'm clapping because I'm being attacked yet again.

HAHAHA.

Love the name Retro Lounge, and the Dean pic. Boy am I glad I posted my frustrations here. DU always helps.

I always welcome suggestions on unconventional ways to deal with these jaggholes. I like to avoid conflict, but do not like NOT standing up for myself, and demonstrating how wrong I think my attackers are.
