Its official - Freepers are but dimwitted children
While browsing Freak Repugnic looking for more Mangate Denial, I came across this bizzare thread.

I thought the title " Fun With Army Men " was gonna be about Gannon !

These nerds are off their rockers !

Fun with Army Men

There are many ways to enjoy Army Men.

The simplest and most common involves a sandpile or dirt backyard, small garden trowel and wood twigs. You can dig bunkers, fortifications and trenchlines.

Outdoors, soldiers can be bombed with 'enemy dirt bombs." Small, dry clumps of dirt will seem to explode upon impact.

3. what's wrong with setting up army men?
I'd love to have the time and money to set up recreations of civil war or battlefields. I loved setting up little battles with my toys and playing army. nothing wrong with that.

How sweeeeeet. Hey freeps, when you grow up and become big boys, you might realize that war isn't fun. You're not getting bombed with "enemy dirt bombs." It's the real thing, and you really die and get maimed.

Stick to playing with your toys, and leave the real war making decisions up to the adults.

6. The author sounds to be an adolescent boy desperate to share
his hobby with his buddies. I would be almost impossible to believe that a mature person would display a wonder for "Small, dry clumps of dirt"

It makes sense that freeper idiots might in many cases be adolescent youth mirroring in a distorted way, the views of their parents.

11. Where are the toy Iraqi insurgents?
I know that some people here on DU say they like to play with toy soldiers but I think this is psycho for adults to be engaging in this behavior.

12. This is what they mean when they say "I am a veteran"
A veteran of backyard army men.

Shit, they probably still play with army men at age 45.

13. If I were a disruptor on FreeRepublic,
I would be hard-pressed to conjure up a post as worthy of a giggle as that one is. Right-wingers take their war games seriously, and the fact that it's absolutely plausible that this was an honest post makes the matter so much more laughable.

It may be the most useful thing ever posted on Free Republic.

Hell, I still play with "toy soldiers" in the form of RTS war games on the computer.
