Ever discover something while listening to a record backwards?
Back in the early days, you could flip the needle over to the other side of the LP and listen to the song backwards. I heard about this in the 70's when a Christian group told us that Alice Cooper played backwards had Satanic messages (hey, genius, he had Satanic messages when played frontwards too). So immediately I tried this with a few albums.

I hear there's some funky shit on the White Album, and several other Beatles favorites, but I never got around to hearing them. I did find the "secret message" in Pink Floyd's The Wall - right at the beginning of Empty Spaces. It says "Congratulations, you have just discovered the secret message." Prince had some stuff on Purple Rain too, but it was pretty boring.

CD players took the fun out of all this, but now with digital music on our computers it's pretty easy to play crap backwards. What else is out there? Do artists to this anymore, or was this just a product of smoking reefer in the 70's?

2. About the time that this stuff hit the press...
I was knee-high to a grasshopper but still managed to catch wind of the phenomenon.

My sibs and I played our "Sesame Street" records in reverse looking for interesting messages. It was a riot (Grover especially is a crackup) but we never found anything subliminal.

3. God, I remember this one.
Back in '81, my friends and I got lured into someone's living room to listen to this stuff backwards. Turns out he was shilling for a fundie church (Rock is evil stuff).
I just wanted to listen to some rock music.
I remember "Stairway to Heaven" played backwards gave us "My lord is Satan"
and "Another one Bites the Dust" gave us "It's fun to smoke marijuana"
Since we weren't "altered" in any way we discovered it wasn't much fun.

11. No, but my dog always had interesting things to say.
Well, up until the point he encouraged the killing spree, at which point I simply had to draw the line.

Bad doggy! Bad doggy!
