OK, THAT'S IT!!!! CatZilla is GROUNDED!!! that idiot cat tried to
kill me last night.

OK, I let all the cats in and CatZilla is missing. So I go out to call him, and I hear this little "mewww, mewww", and I look up and the bozo is on the roof...AGAIN.

Well, I got my little kitchen stool, which allows me to reach the roof and tried to coax him down to where I could reach him. Well he just wanted to roll around on the roof just out of my reach and do the belly mojo on me, so I will rub his tummy. Not working Zilla I can't reach you...

Went to the back porch, and got the step ladder which allows me to get up higher, so my rib cage is about level with the edge of the roof. Zilla comes over to the edge of the roof and does his little belly mojo dance, once again just out of my reach. Finally I lured him over to where I could pick him up. Bear in mind this cat weighs about 12 pounds, easily. There I am on the ladder, cat tucked under my right arm, left hand gripping the edge of the roof ledge and just as I am about to step down and move my left hand to the ladder, the left back leg of the latter sinks into the soft dirt, throwing the ladder out of balance. The top of the step ladder is leaning into the screened porch, I am gripping the roof with my left hand, Zilla is struggling in my right arm and my feet are wedged in the ladder in such a way that I can't get the 3 point contact I need to make the next move.

So I screamed for my daughter, who for some miraculous reason was actually home at 10:30 in the evening. She finally heard me and came running out, stabilized the ladder (cat had taken a flying leap to the ground by this time, and didn't claw me to death in the process)so I could get my secure position and climb down. Then of course the turkey cat heads into the porch and starts acting like nothing is wrong, until we open the back door and he shoots off under the shrubbery (ni!)...finally about 15 minutes later I opened the back door and he comes strolling in like, "why did you leave me outside?"

It wasn't that far of a fall, in fact I could have jumped down, except for the fact that I have a very weak knee. I could just see me twisting the bejjebus out of my knee and gimping myself up for a month. If I could have managed to maneuver the fall to avoid knee damage I would have probably done it. And in my younger years it wouldn't have hurt. I was a little sore this morning, and I had some little scrapes on my hands., but it could have been worse.

I made sure the ladder was unfolded and put up before I came in, just in case that is the way he was getting up on the roof. Of course if he is going up the big tree in the front yard, I can't stop him.

So he just gets to stay in now. Like I said, he is grounded..

2. thanks, he was the biggest kitten in the litter, hence the name
after they were weaned and got on kibble, his brothers started growing faster and now they are bigger. But he is still not exactly a lightweight. Big Brother Lewis is about a 15 pounder

Lewis is the one in the back, CatZilla is in the front

They are trying to hitch a ride to Wyoming with my husband
