Drinking & Hunting will no longer go hand & hand in Virginia if law passes
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A27398-2005Feb15.html?sub=AR

RICHMOND, Feb. 15 -- The Virginia General Assembly is considering a bill to impose strict blood alcohol limits on hunters, angering gun enthusiasts who say the legislation unjustly targets their right to bear arms.

It is illegal in Virginia to "hunt with firearms" when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. But Senate Bill 1149 further clarifies the state code so that a hunter who had a blood alcohol content of .02 would be guilty of a misdemeanor. That's tougher than the state's drunken driving standard. Motorists are legally drunk when their blood alcohol content is .08.

2. This is good legislation.
Fuck the NRA. Who, in their right mind, would think it's ok to mix guns and alcohol?
There is no debate.

6. Ummm...GOOD. All states should do this!
As both a gun owner and a hunter, I could tell you horror stories about the stupid BS I've seen pulled by half drunk rednecks romping through the forest with their guns. Personally, even though I've always been a vocal second amendment supporter, I wouldn't mind seeing a law that makes it illegal to handle ANY firearms ANYWHERE while intoxicated, with the obvious self-defense exceptions.

No responsible gun owner, of any political affiliation, should oppose that idea.

8. AMEN and ALLELUIA
This isn't a second right amendment violation - this is just to prevent some drunkass hunter from killing a human being

7. Guns and alcohol are always a tragic mix
My cousin lost his eye to a recreational hunter who was drunk as a skunk. A centimeter difference and he would have lost his life. If you can't drink and drive, you shouldn't drink and hunt.
