Men Get Dropped Off At Kindergarden Whilst Their Women Shop
cool! :bounce:

BERLIN (Reuters) - German women fed up with their partners' grumbling on weekend shopping trips can now dump them at a special kindergarten for men offering beer and entertainment.

"The women are issued a receipt for their partners when they hand them in and can pick them up again when they return it to us later," Alexander Stein, manager of the 'Nox Bar' in the northern city of Hamburg told Reuters on Tuesday.

The men are given a name badge on arrival and for 10 euros ($11.80) they get two beers, a hot meal, televised football and games.

Stein said the idea for the Saturday afternoon men's creche, or "Maennergarten," came from a female customer who thought it would be a good way of getting shot of her husband so she could shop in peace.

4. Why not just leave them at home?
If I want to shop, and my husband doesn't, I go by myself. What a concept, eh?

Who the hell wants him around asking why I need another pair of black shoes, anyway? Men seem to think one pair of shoes should be adequate for all life's occasions.

9. My wife and I tried that and found it doesn't work all that well...
She just can't seem to keep from getting upset when she comes home in the afternoon, finds that no chores have been done, the dog's are still waiting to be fed and I'm still lying in bed watching TV.

21. But...if she was out shopping...
how can she expect you to be doing chores? That's weird. If I'm out screwing about shopping, I'd have no leg to stand on if I expected my husband to be productive while I was wasting time. Now, if I'm busy doing housework or some such, and he's lying on the couch, that's irritating, but shopping is no more productive than lying on the couch. Less, sometimes, given the financial impact.

If your wife "doesn't let you go?"
Is she your wife or your mother? Oh, come on, you're a grown man, get some backbone and assert your manhood!!!!!

Sorry, I'm not married, so, being a normal gal, I gotta nag and pick on SOMEONE of the male gender, ya know!

10. I'm an anomaly -- a guy who actually likes to shop with my wife!
Go figure, but I get a kick out of it. The other day, we were buying stuff for our new casa, and after several hours of frenzied shopping, she took me into the bathroom fixtures dept. at Expo, said to me, "I'm so happy," and proceeded to lock lips and clench me, right there in front of the Kohler display.

Hey, I'm going shopping with her more often! :toast:

12. And if a man doesn't like soccer or beer...
what, they ask him to hand over his penis and he doesn't get to come to the meetings anymore? C'mon, this crap is just as sexist as any "women all love to shop" jokes.....

18. of course - it's a marketing gag
And a damn successfull one at that. The bar is now one of the most famous bars in Germany, countless TV shows have presented the idea and so on.

That aside: very few German men will decide for a shoe-shop when soccer (and Beer) is an option. Even if it means wearing a retarded name-tag.
