Programmers - what's a good free C++ compiler?
I've been using MS visual C++ 6.0 and I was having all sorts of problems...my executable crashes.

Any good free compilers out there?

1. The obligatory Google search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=c%2B%2B+compiler

I have worked with Borland. They are credible.

4. Borland
Pretty much has always been the standard. Not sure why you'd be having probs with VC++ though.

6. I've had great results
with Borland, VC++, and GNU's C++ compiler. I suspect your problem is not with the compiler as such. The most likely source of mysterious, inexplicable Windows crashes is a DLL version mismatch. That can be a real b**ch to track down, too.
