Individually wrapped peanut butter SLICES????

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/business/DailyNews/peanut_butter_010717.html

Pre-sliced peanut butter is on its way to U.S. store shelves in test markets, food researchers from Oklahoma State University said Monday.

The new form of peanut butter, which will come in individually wrapped plastic sheets, is the product of more than three years of intense research, and 500 different formulas.

"The kids can make their own peanut butter sandwiches without making a mess. It's all about convenience."

The peanut butter comes individually wrapped in plastic sheets, like sliced cheese. A package of 16 one-ounce slices is expected to cost about $2.50 and start selling soon in Wal-Mart stores in Oklahoma and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, McGlynn said.

1. It's about convenience
It's about the stupidest damned thing I've ever heard of in my life. And I thought you had to be a loser to buy frozen macaroni & cheese.

3. Frozen Mac and Cheese?
Never saw such a thing. Why would you buy that? I have to admit that a peanut butter slice is pretty cool but I would never buy it, don't need it and besides it just makes more plastic trash. Is convenience that important?

36. Boiling water is a crutch of weak anti-microwave militants

The key to macaroni in cheese is not in the water, which is only used for the macaroni, but the CHEESE.

Glory uses real cheese! not powdered cheese-inspired artificial freeze-dried cheese solid substitute.

Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 03:26 PM by ritc2750
I don't know what that means, but I'm nearly certain it's not complimentary.

And I'll take you word for it that it's possible to have frozen mac & cheese that's better than from a box. But let's be honest -- the $0.99 Michelena's crap isn't in that league.

On Edit: Is Glory a minority-owned business?

Stouffers Mac and Cheese is awful. The best "quick" Mac and Cheese ever made by humankind was "Golden Grain Macaroni And Cheddar". Nothing like it...Kraft can't even approach the flavor.

Unfortunately, I can no longer find it *anywhere*. :( :( :(

Natural peanut butter a valuable food source for veggie-minded folks. Hydrogenated oils used to replace the peanut oil in most commercial brands is a health risk.

25. Better yet to-go CARBONATED MILK
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 12:49 PM by underpants

http://www.cnn.com/2003/EDUCATION/09/01/carbonated.milk.ap/

George and Mary Ann Clark, husband-and-wife entrepreneurs, have spent the past seven years trying to find the balance. Last week, they started production on a carbonated milk-based drink called Refreshing Power Milk -- RPM -- and they already have orders coming in from school districts.

Mary Ann Clark, a registered nurse, said she was pained to see children drinking cola and shunning milk when she worked in schools so she decided to do something about it.

Read the ingredients of JIF or Skippy the next time you see it - it's nasty. (Lots of crap to keep it "smooth". Buy natural peanut butter - it's much better.

27. Jif? You're kidding!
Down here "Jif" is a cream cleanser that has the tag line "Jif is a powerful formulation that removes stubborn stains from hard surfaces without harsh scratching."

But the name has come to be used for ANY such cleanser, and when someone says they are going to use Jif everbody knows they mean cream cleanser.

If I said I was going to have a Jif sandwich, I would be committed!

...making it yet another thing on Interrobang's List of Things I Can't Eat and Wouldn't Even If You Paid Me. Bleargh. That ranks right up there with pre-cooked bacon (bacon slices take like 30 seconds to cook in the microwave!) and those fluorescent green "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand Cream Pies" I saw once a long time ago while in the US.

Just proves to me that Americans just don't know how to eat. ;-)

And every time I look at them, I keep thinking about the McDonaldization of society(I've taken 15 sociology classes, forgive the jargon hehe). If you can't take a knife and smear some peanut butter on some bread, there's something wrong with you, and you may need a psychologist(Never go to a Psychiatrist if you want to find out what's wrong with you instead of being put on a bunch of different Meds.--Ever psychology professor EVER). What's next? Individually wrapped Jelly?
