A DU pet peeve.....

Honestly it boggles my mind when people do this: Someone posts something about a very specific topic, and then someone who seems to have not even bothered to read the post or if they did, did so through some type of myopic lens, responds with something having nothing to do with the initial topic.

For example:

Original Post: Did anyone see so and so on the such and such show last night? I thought he/she made an interesting point about the Yucca Mountain issue.

Responding Post: Well, that figures I mean what with the Diebold voting machines and all we're not going to have free elections any more.

And actually, it's not random that I used that example since that subject seems to the source of most non-sequiter responses on this board, although there are plenty other culprits.

Is this the result of people not actually even bothering to read the initial post or is it the message board version of spam and are people who do this just trying to insert a particular issue or message in as many spots as they can, whether it fits or not.
