My son's friend admitted to him that he's gay. Dad sent him to Oklahoma
to a re-education camp so Jesus can get into his soul and turn him away from evil homosexuality.
The camp didnt work and the poor kid is pissed.

7. 14, born & raised in Rock n Roll SoCal.
The funny thing about it is that his dad is not a RW fundie. He's an old Rock n Roller himself.

3. That is child abuse.
You should turn the father in to child protective services.

4. As well he should be
Its a pity that once we learn something it doesn't naturally spread to all in our society. There are so many that still think homosexuality is just a bad choice.

6. It's a tragedy when people won't just accept their children
for who they are. This causes a lot of families to break apart.

8. I totally agree with that person.

I think people who happen to be born with biological tendencies to be attracted to the same gender rather than the opposite gender are the most evil people in the world. Don't talk to me about murderers, rapists and child molesters; they aren't so bad unless the rapists and molesters are homosexual ones.

Also, homosexuality is the greatest threat we face as a people. Don't let those liberals tell you that things like war, poverty, ecological destruction, governmental debt, and lack of quality and affordable education and health care are problems. That's just silly liberal talk. Our only real problem is with homosexuals. They are totally ruining the earth.

9. Maybe the family should have watched "saved" first...
it might have occurred to them to consider what would happen if you cram many hormone-loaded teenagers who happen to be gay into a dormitory together for several months.

Hint: the same thing that happens if you cram many hormone-loaded teenagers who happen to be straight into a dormitory together.

Mom, dad, I'd like you to meet my roommate Carlos.

Things that make you go hmmmm.....

Oh that poor kid!
Most of us survive to adulthood in spite of our parents, not because of them. It's probably healthy that he's angry about it.

14. in a sane world, that father could be charged with abuse
and those conducting the "re-education camp" could also be charged with abuse.

Sorry, but it's abuse to subject your child to that kind of treatment for being L/G/B/T

the only thing not normal about that boy's life is the way he was treated...

18. I dont think its entirely the fathers call. His ex and his mom are catholi
strong ones and I beleive that they influenced or threatened the dad somehow. The Dad is a pretty level-headed guy.

19. He refrereed to the camp as "fucking stupid", and the counsellors
as "fucking stupid" and "insane". He spent 3 weeks there and came back just as gay as when he went in.

He needs to be out of his home environment. Or he needs an adult in his house who will be supportive...

26. Sad really
Seriously, this kid is in deep deep water. Sounds like self-hatred has already taken hold or at least, his fear of disappointing his parents and fear of abandonment/rejection are reaching a crisis point.
