Poll question: How many toilets on your roof is too many?
(snip)

Officials in Monaca, about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, last week sent Tom Suica a letter telling him the 10 commodes on the roof of his garage had to come down because they could be a breeding ground for mosquitos and West Nile virus (news - web sites).

Suica, a plumber and Democratic candidate for councilman in the borough of 6,300, claims efforts to get rid of the toilets have more to do with politics than public safety.

"West Nile? Don't you think that's a little much?" Suica said.

The borough soon rescinded its request that the commodes come down after discovering Suica taped the bowls to keep water out.

Suica began his potty protest in 1999 to stop a bank from building a parking lot next to his home. Suica said the toilets symbolize his view that his neighborhood should remain residential.

2. This guy's apparently ignorant...
of the fact that mosquitoes breed in standing water. Either that, or he doesn't give a fuck. Either way, he's wrong.

Anybody will tell you that. Hell, the men can just go off the side. Actually, I can live with two if you're having a party.

5. none
No toilets in the roof:

1) standing water ----------> mosquitoes
2) when taking a leak, there's nowhere to hide from all the folks who look UP :D

10. he even decorates them
for holidays! I love this guy.

What a great protest. Every one of us should put a toilet on the roof, to symbolize what the right is doing to the Constitution and to our country.

14. Advertising!
The guy's a plumber--guess what they do.

No worse of an advertising gimmick than the Terminex fiberglass termites on the truck roofs.

13. You know, the timing of this post is interesting
because our building at work is being reroofed (ah, the smell of hot tar permeating the building - so lovely and refreshing), and I noticed this morning the lazy bastids have the porta-potti on the roof. Now, you have to understand, half my family is roofers, so I've lived with roofers most of my life. Never have I seen a roofing crew with the toilet on the roof before. They always climbed down the ladder to do their business. This is a new pinnacle of weirdness to me.

One toilet on the roof is too many! What if the damn thing falls over? Our roof already leaks - that's why they're hot-topping it! I don't even want to THINK about that leak!

16. were they working?
I mean, you buy a toilet, but before it's hooked up to plumbing, there's no water. So why would it be a WN hazard?
