I Know the Person Who Was Killed in This Story
Two Kentucky State Troopers shot and killed a Daviess County, Kentucky man Saturday morning.

It happened before sunrise in Philpot, Kentucky.

Police were responding to a domestic dispute call.

Kentucky State Police said 39-year old Gerald Buschkoetter died at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems at 4:15 a.m.

He was shot while troopers were responding, along with Daviess County Deputies, to a 911 hang-up call in Philpot at 2:44 Saturday morning.

State Police say they arrived to find a domestic dispute in progress between Buschkoetter and his wife, Jamie.

Trooper Stu Recke says Buschkoetter was armed with two handguns and had fired several shots inside the residence.

Recke says troopers and deputies pleaded with Buschkoetter to put down his weapons, but Buschkoetter pointed a handgun at the officers.

That's when the two troopers, in fear for their own safety, fired their weapons

I wasn't on close terms with the fellow, but I knew him and his wife. For all outward appearances, they were the embodiment of fundie propriety and conspicuous consumption. Must have been more like a fool's paradise.

1. Sounds like a nice guy...a nice guy who's packing 2 handguns
So what's the rest of the story?

Was he impaired?

Was he disturbed?

Is he dead?

Fundie or not, I hate this kind of shit.

Did they have children?

2:44 in the morning.

I don't recall ever wanting to do anything like that at that hour.

Usually, I have more romantic, and amorous, ideas in mind at that hour.

How SAD.

4. No Stories of Disturbance or Imbalance
As I said, the couple was the picture of propriety. They have an 11-year-old daughter. Tragic from that standpoint.
