Richie Valens was born May 13, 1941 and left this world in that plane crash at the age of 17.

Another reminder that Life is precious and way too short.

12. Buddy Holly Had Chartered That Plane....
...because he was cold riding the bus that was taking the performers from city to city on that concert tour. Plus he wanted to get into the next town early so he could do some laundry.
