Lot of shallow fucking people hereabouts, it seems. Or else people who think that because THEY like him, and think he's "the salvation of the Democratic Party" or some such nonsense, everyone who doesn't is just wrong...which is patently absurd (to say nothing of stupid).

And, for the record, I don't care for him that much, either.

39. Poor Dean
He recieved so much greif for that speech/scream.

But I found that muppet thing funny, and on that night of the IA caucus I honestly was worried Dean would collapse from the ummm unbridled enthusiasm.

That said, he's the best choice for chair. I want a little bit of excitement back in the party. And I like that Howard loves to give 'em hell. It's refreshing to see his kind of candor.

And I know someone else who will just love this!:D

Actually, I think that whole thing was totally overblown and shouldn't have spoiled his chances. Howard Dean was not my candidate, Dennis Kucinich was, and I was turned off by the hype surrounding the Dean campaign. But I have been listening to what he's had to say, since the election, and find that I agree with him. And I think he is a brilliant choice for DNC chair. He knows how to elicit grassroots support, raise funds, and I'm hoping that he galvanizes the party.

I like Dean's enthusiasm, but his attitude rubbed me the wrong way during the primaries.

I want to see him as chair though. All the other choices suck. They either sound like republicans, bore me to death, or sound retarded or like they have a speech impediment.

51. Honestly, some people did not
He got so little coverage in the press. Anytime you feel bad about your candidate, just think of mine. I do support Howard Dean for DNC chair, and really hope that he wins. I think that he is important for the future of the party, and would do an excellent job. As for Dennis Kucinich, he still is in the House, and will still do an excellent job for his constituency in Ohio. I just imagined greater things for him, since I believed in his vision.

58. You're very fortunate. I have John Sweeney. *sigh*
I have read up on him, and he's actually fairly progressive on social issues, and often co-sponsors animal protection legislation, but he was also one of the Republican thugs that descended on Florida in 2000, and is on the Homeland Security Committee. No wonder I got the response that I did from him when I e-mailed him, telling him that I opposed The Patriot Act. LOL! The Dems managed to run someone against him, this time around, but this isn't always the case. I live in a very red district, and she didn't stand a chance. But representatives like Kucinich and Hinchey give me hope. I agree, a dream team.:-)

64. The candidate was Doris Kelly
Apparently she wasn't very impressive, as if anyone could take down Sweeney. She ran against John Coleman in the primary, and I thought he was a more viable candidate, but Doris Kelly had Dennis Kucinich's phone list, so more people had heard of her and she won. According to the local paper, Sweeney has the job for life, if he wants it. *sigh* At least he's better than his predecessor, Gerald Solomon. He was a RW maniac!

because our ideas seem to be vastly different. It's kind of like I couldn't dance on Reagan's grave.

I would like to see him tried for war crimes. I think he's jacked up our country, along with the rest of the Republicans. But when I really think about it, I've got many friends who are conservative. So I can't answer that. If I ever meet him, I'll let you know what I think of him. :hi:

Of course you aren't fond of Bush*, or you wouldn't be a member of DU. I would also like to see him tried for war crimes. As a former prosecutor, I thought that Kerry would be the perfect person to pursue this. My friend planned on pressing him on the subject. I am lucky, since most of my friends are also liberal. Not so, my relatives, but you can't pick them. But I cannot imagine that I'd ever like Bush*, if I met him, in person. He has just done and said way too much that I abhor.
