What is your favorite bar?
Among others, I am fond of the Village Tap. See review here

Good food, nice beer garden, etc. I used to live down the block and I don't get over there as much as I should, but I miss it so.

27. I guess I like Big Chicks the best, overall.
Yes, that's the name of a terrific bar on Sheridan in Chicago. Reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere (Michelle Fire, the owner, is a nice, nice lady. :-)) and a buffet indoors on Sundays...and cookouts outside in summer...for free (though you'd be a cheap bastard if you didn't put anything in the tip jar)

Great bar!

11. Akiko's and O'Shea's
O'Shea's is (obviously) a Irish bar. Akiko's is a karaoke bar that serves Crazy Kool-Aid: Sake and blue kool-aid. The place is pretty much a dive, but it is fun as hell.

13. I'm partial to mine.
It doubles as a kitchen counter, but it has everything I need, and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg for a decent buzz. Plus, I don't have to share the television with a bunch or irritating drunks. Well, not unless my family comes by. lol

24. If you weren't an alcoholic, junkie or bum
Then you were part of the crowd that ruined it. Don't think I don't blame myself as well, though I didn't really hang out there much. Isn't gentrification grand? ;-)

I always prefered Stella's to Tuman's myself. I like to surround myself with aging Eastern European hard drinking types like myself. Makes me feel at home. :D

I was not a regular at Tuman's. But, it was cheap. I suppose I was part of the gentrification horde.

Those monster 3 flats that have grown up there. The old dump I used to live in has been demolished (good riddence). I might go back there tonight and hit the old places one more time.

21. Poor Man's Bar on St. Thomas USVI
Plunk down $2.50, order a White Russian, they give you a glass of Ice, some cream, a bottle of Absolut and a bottle of Kahlua and you mix your own drink. And you can roll the dice for it - if you win, your drink is free, if you lose, you pay double.

32. Legend Brewing- Richmond VA...the beer is psychedelic!
Although the owner says I'm crazy. There's a patio where you can look out over the James river at the skyline and people come with their families and drink the fresh micro brew and eat the best hamburgers I've ever had. I no longer live in Richmond and I don't miss the racism, but I love that bar! Live music on Fridays and Sundays...FREE!:toast:
