Jonathan and Victoria from TAR return to the airwaves via Dr. Phil
Just when you thought commercial network television couldn't get any more sensationalistic, the most repugnant people to grace the medium in recent memory get more airtime via an appearance on a Dr. Phil prime-time special.
Granted the special is about disasterous relationships but did the network really think these two people deserved to be promoted and rewarde beyond their 15 minutes. ---------------------------------------------------- For those not in the know, J and V were two contestants that were on the most recent version of The Amazing Race. They gained a certain notoriety due to Jonathan's constant screaming and perpetually near abusive behaviour directed towards his wife and his wife's over-the-top histrionics.
Even if the behavior was a routine/act geared towards capturing screen time it backfired in that it came off as a sad example of a truly dysfuctional relationship between two people who really shouldn't be anywhere near each other outside of a court room
If it wasn't an act then it shouldn't be seen as anything less than truly disturbing and it definitely doesn't deserve extra exposure through a televised program.
for his abusive behavior. I saw him shove his wife after verbally abusing her. I know she can be annoying and hysterical, but no woman deserves to be treated like that. I assume they're off the show now?
2. They were eliminated two weeks prior to yesterday's show
They alone made watching this season's version (which hasn't been without other problems) pretty painful to sit though.
Unfortunately, the only remotely interesting team left is Adam and Rebecca and I think that's because of the total wuss factor personified by Adam (horn boy) as Rebecca has basically bulldozered him throughout the series.
Anything remotely resembling anything other than her cushy white American princess is greeted with disdain. Africa was awful, China was ghetto.... does she realize how she is coming across?
