I will not give Coors money. I'll have to go back to Moosehead.

9. Another vote for Sam! Or a good local micro.

On edit:

Nimbus down here in Tucson is an exceptional example of a great micro.

11. Second that on the local microbrew.
You're likely to find much, much superior beers. I'm currently hooked on anything and everything by NoCal's Lost Coast Brewery.

Got an ice-cold bottle of Great White waiting for me at home! :9

13. My favorite Sam Adams story
The guy who founded the company went to a brewers' convention to talk about his idea with other people in the industry. Just about everybody told him his recipe would make a delicious beer, but they all thought it was doomed to failure in the American marketplace. One guy told him, "The American public wants water that will hold a head."

That's Coors in a nutshell.

But it's also Budweiser (the Anheuser-Busch product, not the original Czech brew), Miller, Rolling Rock, etc. etc. etc.

7. I've been going for the imported lately
Not much of a connoiseur, but I've enjoyed the lagers, dark beers, ambers, bocks, and other types.

But I agree. It's becoming part of the "giant amoeba corporation absorbing all the little ones around it" syndrome.

10. Hmmm. It often starts with fine beer, wine and spirits. The slippery
slope to Republicanism! :scared:

:silly:

:toast: (A vintage French wine for me, please!)

15. "All the pissy taste you've come to expect…now with cross-marketing!"
Their best strategy is to sell Molson in the US because it's 'Canadian,' and Coors in Canada because it's 'American.' Because, you know, everyone who lives where each of those beers are made knows they're fucking pisswater. You have to truck it beyond the range of its own reputation for shittiness to sell the stuff.
