What forum moments do you hate most?
For me, I hate it when I'm browsing the forums after a few hours and find a new topic that I REALLY want to respond to but, like, 40 or 50 people got there before me. I know either everything good's been said or so many people have responded that everybody simply browses the subject lines. I feel like a fool posting to those so I just don't. For example I'd love to respond to the Star Trek thread but it's far too late.

I also REALLY hate it when I see an interesting forum topic that I want to post to and I'm one of the very first to do so. So I go in and pour my heart out into a well thought out response. Only to discover shortly later that the original poster is a disgusting troll who commences to spew his vomitous slime or it becomes evident he's psychotic. I feel so tainted by that and just wish I could delete myself and erase any connection to the original poster completely. But the taint remains.

So what bugs you?

1. The helplessness of spotting a conservative plant.
Unless you come right out and say George Bush is your hero, it's not likely that you're going to get banned- the Mods have so much work to do on their own, and alot of users don't bother reading all the responses in a thread. There are posters here with thousands of posts under their belt who parrot off the "Bush sucks", and "I'm a democrat" but share nothing else with the party.

I guess it's somewhat unavoidable, but it's a shame when you've got people with thousands of posts on DU who are openly parroting off Little Green Footballs articles, among others.

2. I hate it when any thread I respond to just dies away
I bookmark it to look at and it seems that my comments are always the last ones... then it dies a quiet, lonely death.

4. Awww...I know that feeling
Take heart! One day a magic post will come to you when you least expect it to. And the repsonses and views will just keep pouring in and multiplying exponentially and the little icon next to your subject title will be blazing away--and the next day you'll be back to kicking your own post to page one to keep it from sinking like a stone.

5. Any
well-crafted, long-pondered post seems to be alternately ignored completely or be a larger part of a thread that sinks like a stone.

But,

Any flippant remark, mistake of grammar, spelling or facts seems to make it's way magically to the most popular thread in DU history. One which will take a week and a half to die, and even then, will live on in bookmarked resurrections for those who may have been out of town.
