I had the BEST birthday.

My birthday was Sunday. My wife gave me the best weekend present. I woke up to breakfast in bed on Saturday. We got up and went down to NYC. We went to the Museum of Natural History (one of my favorite places, yes I am a geek). We then went to a Matinee performance of Fiddler on the Roof. It was great. Then we had a great dinner at my favorite steakhouse. Saturday night we stayed at a great bed and breakfast. It was this old mansion overlooking the Hudson River. We had a fire going, a bottle of wine and some good tunes. After breakfast Sunday we drove back to our house. In the afternoon some friends came by for a little birthday cake (actually they were birthday cookies). I had a great weekend, and I have the best wife for surprising me with a wonderful present.

a day late! It sounds like a perfect weekend. Yes, you wife is wonderful and no, you are not a geek. I love the idea of birthday cookies, I may have to try that.

I'm not much of a cake guy. I love these chocolate caramel cookies my wife makes for the holidays every December. She made me a little batch for my birthday. the only problem was with my friends over, the cookies all went (almost, she saved me six, so I have a treat or two for this week).
