Multiple Posts are caused by Multiple Clicks
You may not think a post has gone through, so you click your post again. Again it just sits there, so you click again. And again. And again. And when you finally get to the forum--voila!--there are six clones of your original post all in a row.

I have trained myself to click just once, as though I were dealing with a credit card purchase. I copy the message text, click, open a second window to DU, refresh the screen, check to see if the post is there. Usually it is, unless I've gotten the "unable to connect to database" message.

1. You're sure?!
Because I think we'd pinned it down to bad astrological alignment, or possibly poor toilet-training in youth.

2. Poor toilet training may be the cause for some post-multipliers.
I shan't say whom.

4. Actually, you're wrong...
When you get the "unable to connect to database" message, and you hit "reload", it will make multiple posts. You have to hit "back" in order to avoid the multiple posts. I never hit the post button more than once, and I've gotten multiples several times because of the server problem.

I think you're right about that.

8. Ahhhhhh, I see, so I am at fault for using that dratted refresh...
and here I thought I was innocent of all wrongdoing because I only ever hit post once...but the refresh button, that's another story. Whoopsie!!

5. First you press your mouse button
really REALLY hard!
If that doesn't do it, then try clicking several times.
Yep, that'll do it.
