Child Dies After 8 Hours in Hot Car
"PARK CITY, Kan. (AP) - A 22-month-old girl died after being left all day in 100-degree temperatures in a sport utility vehicle her family had agreed to lend to relatives...

Alyssa Dillman and her 4-year-old brother were dropped off by their father Monday morning at an uncle's house. He then drove away in another vehicle without notifying the uncle...

...the boy left the car and went inside his uncle's mobile home. When asked where his sister was, the boy said she was ``sleeping,''...the family apparently assumed the girl had stayed at home.

Alyssa was not found until 5:30 p.m., when her mother returned to pick the children up...authorities measured the temperature inside the vehicle at 142 degrees."

A tragedy, but how....HOW can anyone just park their car with the kids in outside someone's house and then drive off without stopping to check that everything is OK???????

1. Somehow......I dont' believe things transpired as reported......
can't you just see a baby crying and carrying on and some dufus putting the screaming child into the car? Or something extra heinous.

I mean.....did dad just leave the kiddies in the car with the KEY in the ignition as well?

3. Well
actually, the poor baby probably didn't cry. She most likely was unconscious through it, a small blessing.

And yeah, why on earth would any parent be so stupid as to drop the kids off and leave them in the car and not tell anyone they were there???

5. This is happening way too much
You would think that people would have learned by now. Even if heat wasn't the issue, leaving a child unattended anywhere is a bad idea. There was a case in Michigan a few years back in which this mom left her child in her SUV with the car running to run in to the 7-11 and come right back. Someone stole her van with the baby in it. The thief, to his "credit", realized that the baby was in the van and dropped him off at a restaurant before trying to flee the police.
Since the mom was white and from Brighton, no charges were filed against her.

8. Honestly!
Who has not yet got the memo on this? Can you believe that this shit still happens? Jesus Kee-rist, deal with your kids. DO NOT leave them in a vehicle unattended, EVER!!!

We had a story here a year or so ago. Mother (young white woman) leaves baby in running vehicle while she runs into the supermarket to get something. You guessed it - the vehicle was stolen with the baby inside. When the thief realized the baby was there, he (thankfully) abandoned the vehicle. Baby was safely recovered. Turns out the mom is a heroin addict, had "stuff" in her car, and was already "known to the authorities". So she was not let go scot-free, although I don't recall what happened to her legally. But she did have to pay for her stupidity.

6. Notice the trend? Moms are SHOPPING, and dads FORGET the
kids...

Every single time.

7. This happened last week in my area.
Two foster kids left in an SUV while the foster mother was inside her daycare facility.

I don't know what people are thinking. Or why they can't bring themselves to think.
