3. Me too
My fave way to prepare it is this:

Use extra firm Mori-Nu tofu

slice thinly, and pat out extra water between paper towels

dip & cover in a mixture of nutritional yeast and panko (Japanese bread crumbs)

pan fry using non-stick spray, until golden brown

top each piece with a dab of butter or vegan butter substitute, crushed macadamia nuts & parsley

squeeze fresh lemon juice

This is AWESOME, especially served with rice and a side of veggies.

5. I usually do egg and flour for frying
but I will surely try the bread crumbs. I even have some in my pantry. No yeast though--I have problems with yeast. Usually I steam tofu with veggies and then top with soy sauce and Japanese sprinkles.

6. Instead of yeast
maybe you could try seasoning the flour with fake-chicken broth powder, like the kind you can find in bins at health food stores. (Of course make sure it doesn't contain yeast for flavoring!)

It's the nutritional yeast in the recipe that gives it extra flavor, so perhaps you could find something to have the same effect. :)

Or there's always my trusty Japanese sprinkles (sure wish I knew what they were called).

9. Don't know--they're labeled in Japanese
Mixture of sesame seeds, pepper flakes, and other stuff--maybe seaweed or bonito. Really good and they make everything taste Japanese.

12. Nope
It comes in a red plastic tub. Perhaps there's more than one brand.

14. It comes in many brands
Kind of like soy sauce. But the sprinkles (generically) are called furikake. And there are different variations of furikake, ingredient-wise, but they are all sprinkles. :)

13. I like Tempeh
Kind of on the same subject, someone was telling me of hidden MSG in foods. Many processed soy products appear to contain it, I didn't know it by it's various "disguises".
