Air Ameirca starts in LA on Feb. 3rd!!!
As first tipped here a month or so ago, liberal Talk
is coming to LOS ANGELES as the last piece of the
CLEAR CHANNEL AM format shuffle puzzle on FEBRUARY 3.

The 1150 AM frequency presently occupied by KXTA-A/LOS ANGELES, the northern half of the XTRA SPORTS 690 AND 1150 simulcast will pick up the standard CLEAR CHANNEL liberal talk lineup of AIR AMERICA RADIO and JONES/DEMOCRACY RADIO's ED SCHULTZ. LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS basketball will remain on the 1150 frequency.

So what this means is...if they carry Randi, it will be on tape-delay a-la Portland (3p-7p PT)... and run the chance of having the last hour pre-empted for basketball pre-game shows...

Let's see what happens on February 3rd...get the
word out to anyone you know in Los Angeles to set
their radio dial to 1150am!!!

1. I have Sirius.
It is really difficult for me to accept liberal talk radio going out from Clear Channel offices/equipment. I guess I have to be realistic, but it makes me gag.

I worry that it will only be a short time until there is pressure put on the hosts not to talk about certain subjects. Actually, there was already; Randi said that some pressure was put on her not to talk about election fraud issues
Aren't we giving them some power over us? Or, can a case be made that it is better that Air America and Jones Network broadcasts are spread out - being broadcast via Clear Channel and Sirius and XM (so that the targets are spread out). I don't know.

4. hopefully...
...when they get back on in LA, that'll help get Chicago back and more. It's damn overdue!

Is Randi on tape today or something?

3. Woooo HOOOOO!
I checked the website for 1150 and the current sports channel is changing to 570 am on 2/3. So there won't be any re-empted AAR shows.

I DOES look like that Randi will be on 3pm-7pm after Ed Schultz like they do in Portland and SF. I'd rather have her on live. But this is cool because she'll now be my drive home radio!!

This is great news. I'm unable to afford Sirrus just yet.
