21. We're all spitting in disgust, don't you worry.
*'s coronation led the news tonight (followed instantly by the allegations of British torture in Iraq) and Mrs Taxloss said, the instant * appeared, "Why doesn't that man just fuck off? He's always talking like he loves the world, but he's forever telling us what to do and saying he's better than us. Well, he isn't. I think I hate him."

Mrs T isn't that interested in politics and the news, so that really surprised and pleased me.

23. Just don't think about smoking.
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 07:42 AM by BiggJawn
Sometimes I think "I used to have a smoke right about now", but it's a fleeting moment and I don't dwell on it. I used Zyban to deal with the cravings and withdrawl problems until the nicotine had purged itself out.

I think it's about 25% physical and 75% psychological.

Damn things DO stink, though, don't they? :-)

6 weeks is well on the way to Freedom, keep up the good work!

13. From someone whose sister just died of lung cancer.
Please get into all of the cancer-preventive diet, vitamins, exercise, ALL of that stuff.

16. I'm so sorry - be assured, my focus is on health now.
I eat well, but should drink less. But I'm getting married, so the focus is on the future and health. I'm so sorry about your sister.

20. Thank you. It was just before Christmas. She was 57 years old.
We shared a bedroom when we were teenagers, double dated.

Read all of the prevention literature. There are many many prevention things you can do. You'll have to build your life around it for a while, until it becomes more a part of how you live. It includes stuff like changing your body chemistry "environment" from acid to alkaline.

24. I been smoke free for 5 years and had the urge
this morning to smoke. I was standing around a bunch of guys who were all smoking and almost asked one of them for a cigerette. I knew better... It does get easier, just takes time.

25. Congratulations Taxloss!
I'm truly happy to hear that. I absolutely hate cigarettes. I'm sorry, I know you've probably heard sob stories like this a thousand times, but my grandmother died of emphysema less than a year ago. It was slow and agonizing, and it rendered a fiercely independent woman bedridden and nearly helpless. Still had the strength to tell Republicans to go to hell even near the end, Lord love her.
