bulls eye virus -- (primal scream here)
So earlier today I followed instructions from DU-ers to defrag, scan for virus, etc. I did. No progress.

Now, in checking the processes running, I find something called bullseye.exe. So I go to the good computer and google bullseye network, and it apparently is one of the worst to remove.

Have any of you gone through this process? I really don't have the IT skills to attempt this, I don't think.

2. This is what I do......
download a program called "hijackthis.exe". try here http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

use the info you get to pinpoint where this bug is hiding.

Run it and if you see the process, delete it. Then run "spybot search and destroy". There is a link on the site I mentioned above.

Do a deep search of your registry for "bullseye". Delete those directories.

HERE IS THE TRICK......restart your comp in "safe mode".

run all the programs again.

Do a deep search of your registry for "bullseye". Delete those directories.

That should do it. The safe mode trick will keep the little bastard from respawning itself.

3. can't download anything....
...because the virus has locked up the browser. Can't connect to the Internet. And the puter has no disk drive.
