8. What songs were on that album?
I just bought Retrospective 1 1974-1980 the other day. Got it for $10, too. I enjoy their older stuff more than their newer stuff.

12. The good ones were
Edited on Sun Jan-16-05 01:25 AM by LudwigVan
"Force Ten"
"Time Stands Still" (with Aimee Mann)
"Lock and Key"
"Turn The Page"
"Prime Mover"
"Mission"

It wasn't their best in my opinion, but they began to show a lot of maturity, and even more with Presto, which I count as one of their best.

I also had A Show Of Hands, the 1989 live album that came after Hold Your Fire. Unfortunately, I have never had the chance to actually go to a Rush show. And I had the chance too, dammit.

Edit: I just contradicted myself. I meant they were in my city, but I had to work or something, or I was broke.

13. I've seen Rush five times
I've even traveled to Toronto (from Ohio) to see them play for a half-hour from a mile away at the SARS benefit.

Wait, maybe that's why I don't have a girlfriend...

9. Which Rush era do you think was the best?
Edited on Sun Jan-16-05 01:14 AM by LudwigVan
1) Rush to Caress of Steel
2) 2112 to Permanent Waves
3) Moving Pictures to Hold Your Fire
4) Presto and afterwards

I like any Rush except the first three albums, speaking for myself. I say they peaked with the third era.

Edit: Vapor Trails could be the beginning of a fifth era, but I'm not sure.

11. I think MP-HYF was their best,
They hit a trough with Roll the Bones through Test for Echo, but Presto (1989) and Vapor Trails (2002) were two of their best albums.

I think 2112 is overrated, and Fly By Night is underrated. Other than that, I'm your typical Rush fan.

16. Totally in agreement about both 2112 and FBN.
I thought RTB was okay, but the title track and "Ghost Of A Chance" are two of my favorite Rush songs.

I played in a Rush tribute band once, but we never had any gigs. I got to do Geddy's job. Back when I could actually sing.

(I meant to say the first and third albums were my least favorites, not the second.)
