The penny says "URRACA, 1996" on the front and has a picture of a native looking person

Tha back says "Republica De Panama, Un Centesimo De Balboa"

Has anyone else ever gotten a weird coin of another currency by accident?

2. Are those the same size as american coins?
This penny is identical in size to an american penny. I don't know why i looked at it, otherwise I would have never noticed.

8. All Panamanian coins are identical in size to American coins.
Penny for penny, nickel for nickel, etc. Although today they're probably worth more than American coins, thanks to Bush.

3. I have Canadian coins.
Not that they are weird, but I did get a lot of those in change last year.

5. Over 15 years in retail, I have seen coins from lots of other
countries. Several from different Caribbean countries. British.
And of course, Canadian.

6. Wow
I wonder how much foreign currency is currently in circulation here, and nobody notices.

7. Vasco Nunez de Balboa.
Was beheaded by the Indians. And, in great irony, when the Americans built the High School, Balboa High School, in the Canal Zone. on the front lawn was ...wait for it... a bust of Balboa's Head.

9. Can't say I have. The only ones I've gotten other than American
coins are Canadian coins.
