Why can't people obey basic traffic laws?
Now in Washington state you get a free right hand turn on a red light if no traffic is coming, I don't know if its like that everywhere? But I digress...

So I understand that, and I get that, but when you have a red light, and the traffic across from you has GREEN arrow to turn left and there are about 5 cars making left hand turns, you.. STAY WHERE YOU FUCKING ARE! You do not turn right when YOU think its a good time, YOU wait until there is NO ONE COMING or there is a GREEN LIGHT!

This stupid hooker nearly plowed into me! Because she decided she would turn when I had a green fucking arrow!

And I wont ever start on people who RIDE YOUR ASS when you're going the god damn SPEED LIMIT!

LEARN TO DRIVE MORANS!!!! :grr:

</end rant>

1. Tailgaters
Do you ever get the urge to stop, get out, go to their car and hand them a dollar; apologizing for wasting their valuable time?

17. Heh, heh
You know what's funny? Most tailgaters really think you should. I've argued with people on this board who claim that they have a God-given right to tailgate because they don't like people wasting their time. Unbelievable.

5. Once, long ago
in rural Alabama, I was headed to work. Slowly, because of the rednecks in front of me who needed to pull out RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME in their pick-em-up truck.

Once I got to a decent passing lane on this back country road, I passed them. I looked in the rear view mirror, and they were both flipping ME off.

So I slowed down. So did they. I sped up. So did they. We played this game for a couple of miles, then I started to seriously slow down. They slowed down even more, getting further back. I finally came to a complete stop and got out of my car.

They pulled off the side of the road, executed a very fast three point turn, and took off.

Damn, that felt good.

OTOH, I still don't understand why a jerk ran a red light, almost crashing me, while his girlfriend was flipping me off. Had I not had my daughter, I'd have followed them.

I did that once, too. Guy ran a red light, cutting me off and almost causing me to crash. I followed him. For twenty minutes. I could tell he wanted to go home, but was afraid to, because he kept going around and around in the same neighborhood. Heh heh heh...

10. you got out of the car to confront them? when you had your daughter?
you're lucky they turned tail and ran, instead of running you down, or pulling out a gun- the way you describe it, they were acting like psycho-(or at least socio-) paths.

13. No, this is two different times
I got out of my car, I was alone. I DIDN'T confront the people when I had my daughter.

For the record, I'm a very, very big guy. I'm very not-scared of most people, especially in that area.

9. regarding the "right turn on red law"...
welcome to the 21st century, washington state!

we've had the right turn on red for quite awhile here in illinois, and there's one aspect of it that a lot of people aren't aware-

the law doesn't say "right turn on red", but rather refers to following the curb- meaning that you can also turn left on red, when turning from a one-way street onto another one-way street...unfortunately, we have a lot of one-way streets around here, and a lot of people who are ignorant about the left-turn part.

it can be maddenning getting stuck behind one of the uninformed morans.

11. We've always had the free turn law, I think, but there are tons of people
who don't quite get it! They drive me nuts!

Another thing that drives me insane is I live a small town and theres one main road, and side streets, well the first side street is a left hand turn when entering town. The out going traffic stops for the incoming traffic making a left turn. There is a GIANT stop sign and right under this GIANT stop sign is another GIANT white sign that says:

"On coming traffic has right of way."

Well it seems people can't read either, because they always go! Causing me to slam on breaks and shake my fist at them, then they look at me like I'm the STUPID ONE.... :grr:

15. are they turning on to a two lane road or a 4 lane road
because if it is two lanes in each direction, it would seem you both could turn at the same time, she (hooker) in the lane closest to her left and you in your lane closest to your right. And if everyone stayed in their proper turn lanes, there would be no accidents

16. Two lane road. So it was either I go first, or she go first, and I had
the right of way, she did stop and let me go, but it was pretty close. I didn't pay attention to see if she let the car behind me go or she just went. The car behind me would have had the right of way too, since I know the light was still green.
