Our draconian liquor license laws make it impossible for small restaurants to get licenses, so many "bring your own bottle" restaurants have popped up.

Works for me - we don't have to pay a restaurant's obnoxious mark-up or $9 a glass for wine.

It's not like you're taking away from their liquor profits - they can't get a license, so it's in their best interests that people feel free to bring a bottle.

20. Italian in the states...the local cuisine here...
and here = Japan. The small, dingy, ma-and-pa ramen houses here are oh so so so good, and cheap too!
