I'm tired, why should I care?
My apartment is a little cluttered. Why should I care?

I've got the bitch queen from hell as a department head at work, why should I care about doing a good job if it only reflects well on her and I don't get rewarded for my hard working efforts, meanwhile she wants everybody to cutback on hours and then later gives promotions to people who are either too new according to the union or who really don't deserve it (brown-nosing...)

And when most of the staff wants the PREVIOUS supervisor to come back, things are shit right now.

Why do I care?

Bush wants the world to fry in hades, unless of course it harms the interests of corporate america, in which case he'll cheat and steal and manipulate to get his way. And there's nothing I can do to stop it.

We are all told that when we leave jobs, we be polite and don't burn bridges. That's bull. If there's a problem, people should talk about it freely without fear of punishment or firing. When I leave my employer, fuck the system - I'm going to let them have it and make sure the news gets out into the open so the unresolved issues I've kept tabs on get noticed again.

What's the point of protesting when things only seem to get worse and protestors, like everybody else, are not being given their constitutional and just due rights. Lord knows that the pukes will do to manipulate the system in their favor.

When do we speak up FOR REAL? When do words become mere lip service? When does action prove we are serious? When do we replace mere words with definitive action?

The time for words is nearing its end.

3. And be smug?
I'll die of internal brain hemorrhaging by that time.

Thank God(dess?) I'm on medications that help keep me even remotely stable. After reading a couple of news items on cbsnews.com about Bush's HALF TRILLION BUDGET HOLE (thanks to a needless tax cut and corporate job shifting, not this "spending too much" bollocks and bullshit), I actually CRIED in my cube and started muttering things in a low voice.

How long before I speak more loudly?

How long before I yell for all to hear?

America has never been in this bad of a shape and we are all guilty if we don't act out in protest. As if that matters anyway, Major Asshole* and his thugs will stop at nothing anyway.

When America crumbles, may they suffer the most pain and misery. We, The Innocent (aka "We, The People") sure as hell don't deserve any of it that he* has caused.

2. There, there Therm.......
I kind of rely on you to bring the positive spin to things!!!

You should care because:

It doesn't matter to anyone if you care EXCEPT to you. So you are doing it for yourself. Don't care, and feel bad. Or do care, and feel good. And if the positive spreads to others, that's a bonus. A very good karmic bonus!

4. It's all a game
My work place almost seems like a comedy. I was told that I needed to learn how to be diplomatic and professional and given contradictory advice. I have been watching and I get even more confused. Bascially, the idea is to appease the boss even when he or she is wrong. Try your best when given impossible goals but do not state that they are impossible. You want the boss to like you so always be extra polite and listen when the boss brags about his or her fishing trip. Advice is to be given to subordinates. If you take their advice and pass it on, take credit for it. If the boss is very wrong (like it is a life and death situation), bring two co workers with you and find a way to appeal to the boss's best interests. Never be wrong. If you are wrong, do not apologize. You would not want to prolong your wrongness. You can complain about people all you want if you are sure that the words will never get back to them and you pretend to like them. I hate this game. I prefer objective standards, setting and reaching goals, and a bit of free creativity to support goals and standards. I do not like hierarchal rule where the most worthy and talented people are not necessarily on top. It just doesn't make sense to me.
