Goofiest spam you get in your e-mail?
Other than the ads that promise me enhanced breast size, I just got one titled, "Pornstars having sex!"

What else would I expect them to do?

2. I thought it was funny
Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 07:50 PM by anti_shrub
When the same spam group sent me one message promising to increase the size of my penis and at the same time another one promising to give me a larger bust size.

Maybe they think I'm a hermaphrodite (sp)?

4. My weirdest spam story
This happened to me last year:

I got a spam at work, around mid-morning. The spammer had apparently screwed up and in their "Reply-To" field they put the original mail-list. This meant that if you tried to respond to the email, you would actually send your message to everyone on the original spam list.

Well sure enough, about five minutes later I get an email from one of the recipients saying "Please remove me from your list". Then a couple of minutes later I got another from someone else on the list. That was followed by a "Who ARE you people and why are you sending me these messages??", and then a couple more remove requests and a few more "Will you STOP IT ALREADY?!?!!???" messages.

A couple of people of tried to send messages telling everyone else that if they would just stop responding the whole thing would go away, but that would usually be followed by a "Please stop sending me email" message.

This went on for most of the day. I saved the messages (about 30 or 40 of them, I think) -- someday I might make a web page out of it.

Very strange.

5. I admit, I used to be a spammer....
...not of e-mail but of message forums and guestbooks.

A friend of mine and I wrote a program that would do it automatically. When I first put rememberjohn.com up, I announced it in over 10,000 forums and guestbooks.

One company caught on and wrote us a nasty letter.

6. I was offered real estate on the moon.
Quite a bargain at only $25 per acre, but I decided not to buy. Acreage beyond the reach of the Empire.

7. Iraqi gold
They said I would get 10% of 60 million in gold, all I had to do was give them my bank account numbers, ss#, and the rest of my personal information and they would dump the money right into my bank. So of course I was like wow 10% of 60 mil how can I lose. But then after I sent him the information got all screwd up and he accidentally emptied my checkings account so I wrote him a very angry e-mail. He told me it was just a clerical mistake and told me that if I sent him my savings account information then he would refund the money that got taken and give me the 6 million. So I expect any day now I will have a cool 6 million plus the 9 thousand from my checkings account in my savings account :dunce:
