1. Just hope that one of your players doesn't get hurt
playing to keep Fox's ratings intact.

Hey Fox! I have an idea! Get rid of all the frigging graphics, stop filling up the best seats with third-rate actors, and concentrate on the game - the ratings will magically be restored.

2. I have been a big baseball fan for 40 years
BUT, this years all star game is anything but ALLSTAR .. Relative to baseball, I long for the good old days. Give me the 64 game when Johnny Callison was the MVP. Give me players with heart and desire and not ridiculous contracts and long rap sheets. This years all star game mean nothing to me and I am not watching. I'd rather go see the New Orleans Zephyrs in their battles for the triple A crown. Good game, good ball park, good price, good players attitude. No dickheads, no faux hype.

said it took a lot to turn him away from baseball, but when Barry Bonds said something to the effect that he's a grown man and doesn't have to participate in that, it changed his thoughts about it. Mine changed years ago.

edit to clarify: barry not participating in home run hitting contest

4. Nope. Sorry.
I love baseball, but come on...last year they played to a TIE, and this year they want to base the World Series on the outcome? How desperate is THAT?

I'm just longing for the day when all professional sports economically implode, and we can go back to real athletes who at least give a shit about the game rather than the money...

6. I like the fact it "means" something
But I'm NOT watching it. Since MLB replaced Zito with Clemens, I refused to watch it.

"Days of Thunder" is on, so I'm watching that while playing Out of the Park 4. At least my Mets (with Seaver, Kooz, and Kong) are doing better than the current team (1st place, heading into the All Star Game).
