What does eom mean?

6. why do people feel the need to announce the end of a message with eom?
seems like the lack of words would be a big clue to the reader that the message is done. eom

7. It is usually used in the subject line, so the reader doesn't have to read
...the whole post.

Took me ages to work that out. And how often do you click on a post title with n/t in it?
