I have a nine-year-old daughter who is addicted to the show, so I've become much more familiar with it than I ever thought I would have. I've developed a like-hate relationship with it. I like some episodes. I HATE the catchphrases!

21. I'm there with you.

I find these two girls to be two of the least physically attractive young stars in the entertainment industry. I do not understand why so many appear to be enamored with these two women.

That said, eating disorders are terribly difficult to break. One of my dearest friends has been fighting an eating disorder for over 12 years now. She has done massive damage to her body which has left her sterile and with bone weakness. I hope both of these young women (or is it just one) have more success in fighting their eating disorders.

22. Ah the power of effective marketing

Not having kids yet I was unaware that they were still "around" but they have made a fortune marketing to girls (primarily) about their same age. They started early, got their fan base established-expanded on it with marketing/word of mouth/peer pressure (they were "cool"), and then were amongst the most successful "tweeners". The sold everything form movies to hair care products or at least so I have read.

Really amazing that there really wasn't a lot of attention paid to them nor apparently was it needed. Almost its own subculture- sorta like oh mountain biking either you know about it or you don't.

26. Olsen girls shampoo?

I have three nieces who are fans of the olsen girls. My oldest niece, now 13, grew up loving these girls. (though lately it is more boy-bands and britney spears).

I never knew about the product marketing, but I have seen dozens of videos while babysitting. To be honest, I was very surprised that the films I watched were all pretty good. They are kids films (with the accompanying difficult choices and lesson learned jargon) but they were quite well done. I would rather watch a mystery movie with my nieces than some of the cartoons produced today.

However, these kids need to watch some Sid and Marty Krofft with me. One hour of Sigmund the Sea monster, Land of the Lost and HR Pufnstuf would do them a world of good.

I could have sworn I saw a report a few years ago about them and it mentioned hair care/beauty products maybe it was just accessory stuff (lunch boxes and such).
