If you are in a relationship with someone, and feel like it may be time to make a long-term committment, take my advice and try this simple test first.

PAINT A ROOM TOGETHER.

If you can do that without killing each other, the relationship has good odds of survival.

I will never ever understand the Irresistible Compulsion to Paint. My god, if you can't stand the way a room's walls look, go get a cup of coffee, for crysake. It's not a sign that the room needs paint - it's a sign that you have to get out more.

If you didn't drive him nuts going, "you missed a spot" then you have mastered the meaning of a LTR. :D

And he did a great job. He did all the trim in the bathroom and the hall.

But I think he now expects ME to paint the door while HE sits on his ass and does whatever.

Taking turns is the key to this LTR stuff.
