Happy Holidays from my pets to yours! (homemade card)
Outside of card:

Inside card:

I haven't made any Christmas cards in ages, but I thought it would be fun to try this year (totally unexcited about the holidays, so it seemed this might help). Oberon and Puck (on the outside) were lured into posing in their finery with their favorite feather toy, while the rarely photographed Miro (always shuts his eyes and puts his nose to the floor when the camera appears) was bribed with treats, which he has obviously had a few too many of.

4. He seems to be saying that here:

Both "big kitties" (Miro and Oberon) weren't very fond of there costumes, but treats go a long way towards appeasing them. Puck could care less; as long as someone will play with her, she's happy!

bloody cat had me swearing like a sailor after about the 30th bad shot! He just KNOWS when to shut his eyes and look away (and looks darned cute while the photos are downloading, of course)!

5. Great Card!!
Just adopted another fine feline last night from Humane Assoc. He is a big boy, a 2yr old orange tabby with four white paws and a white bib...he is soooooooo gorgeous - abandoned by his owners.

Right now he is trying to fit in with a 7 yr. old Scottish Fold male who thinks he is king of the castle, a 15 yr old calico Persian female who is such an old crack and sits on her throne (the couch) hissing at anyone who comes near

and the poor dogs - 2 Australian Shepherds who only want to sniff him a bit...I hope my house is in one piece by the time I get home...

6. So cute!
Did it help you to feel better? I can't get into it, I simply do not care. I have bought presents and both my boys will be home from school and I have bought all the dinner ingredients but as far as decorating and feeling good about it, well it just is not there. I am just looking around for ideas to help and yours is adorable. Maybe I will give that a try.

9. My pets always cheer me up
theyre just so goofy, and real attention whores. The two younger ones love hamming it up for the camera (the polar opposite from Miro)So it was fun to take their pictures. I still grumble when shopping (and I usually LOVE giving presents), won't put up the decorations, etc. At least this way, maybe my friends will get a holiday chuckle-most of them feel as we do, too.

8. Very cool Jen! I do that every year
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 03:49 PM by SiouxJ
well, not with photos. I usually do some sort of drawing or painting. I love your captions too! Can't wait to get mine ;-) . Oberon makes a perfect Santa with his beard and all.

Here's mine this year; I went with watercolors. I'm a little rusty at that medium, haven't done them in ages.

Funny how we both went with the "elf" costumes huh?

11. Awww..look at Tasha's big smile!
and Boris looks as attentive and hopeful as ever. Great painting! Yeah, watercolors are tough-you saw the troubles I had with those #@^&%! fairies! You done good there!

I had to make Puck's elf collar, but the others were purchased. They don't make kitty hats that are big enough for Maine Coons, lol!

Yep, you'll get one soon-well, as soon as I can figure out how to feed the card stock into the printer correctly!

Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 03:46 PM by SiouxJ
you have talents you haven't told me about yet.

Did you try a dog hat?

Well thanks. Tasha's face got a tad muddy but at least I got her smile down. Black watercolor, what was I thinking?!

Yeah, printing them is always the challenge. The printers in general do not like card stock. I gave up printing a message on the inside years ago as that required a double feed and I was having enough trouble getting the first feed to work. This year I have that new Xerox color laser jet for my business so it was a snap. Good luck with it! If all else fails, email them to Kinkos and have them do it ;-) .

18. Felt, glue gun, needle, thread, bells...
that's about it! The dog hats I could find were too big, so If I try again, I'll have to make my own.

Damn! This printer is a pain in the ass! I've screwed up far more cards than I've printed. The bloody HP Deskjet never feeds the paper the same way twice.Next year, I'll either ditch the idea or go to Kinkos!

and Puck is his Mini Me!

Actually, none of them is an Alpha. The kitty I lost last year was the Alpha to Miro's Beta, but since the new cats arrived, none of them has stepped forward to take over that role.
Oberon is a big baby,; high pitched mew, needs lots of cuddling, very clingy-it's pathetic, really. Puck is the imp, and has no problem being a bit forward, despite her diminutive size compared to the other two:

This is close to the size difference now that she's full grown (except that foreshortening makes her head look a bit large here):

Kitties; always entertaining!

You should post last year's pencil of Boris and Natasha, it's a great one too!

Heheh, I toyed with the idea of doing pet photography, but then I worry that every customer I would get would have a camera shy pet like Miro!

I think the board is overloaded with pics of B&N for now, so I'll wait. If anyone wants to see that one, they can go to the "Artists" group and find it. Thanks though!

Gotta run. I'm going down to Phoenix to meet up with my parents. Taking them out for a little Holiday cheer tonight.

C'ya!

40. no, and I have great photos of them. I have no idea how to work the
picture thing on this site.

Boom 16, long hair male
Babe 15, medium hair grey and white tuxedo
Black 6, female tortie (she is evil but hilarious)
Bobo 2, black and white tuxedo male

Babe loves it when Black jumps up and body slams him or when she starts nibbling the end of his tail.

I didn't realize how random the paper feed is in my HP printer-getting them to register on both sides is TOUGH. Are there any printers out there that are more reliable?

But hey, if you want the JPEG file to customize for yourself, just PM me. :hi:
