Poll question: How many TV shows do you watch regularly?
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 01:36 PM by redqueen
I watch 4 regularly, including Jon Stewart. I also sometimes watch Mike & Mike in the morning and Keith Olbermann but I'm not counting those since I only see it for maybe 30 minutes twice a week.

Just trying to gauge how much TV we watch...

editing to list my other regularly watched shows: Scrubs, Lost and Joan of Arcadia

editing again - I forgot football! I watch MNF and at least three games on the weekends. That's a lotta TV.

my fear is that it's contageous and there soon wouldn't be anything online but infomercials.

9. There are four I go out of my way to see.
"The Daily Show", "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", "Scrubs", and "Less Than Perfect".

"Monk" used to be on that list, until I heard they were dumping Bitty Schramm.

11. Oh yes, Monk would be on mine as well, but it's not on now.
And when American Idol comes back in January, I'll watch that.

I'll still watch Monk, too. Bitty Schram was great but I heart Tony Shalhoub.

14. Daily Show and whichever series is on HBO

We watch whatever the HBO series is running at the time:
Sopranos, The Wire, Oz, SatC, Deadwood, Curb Your Enthusiasm.

And Bill Maher when he's on.

16. I will NOT miss Olbermann.
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 01:23 PM by crispini
I watch the Daily Show sometimes... but, for me, the problem is that once I get hooked on a series-type show -- and it has to be a pretty good show for me to get hooked on it, viz: Buffy -- I will OBSESS. I will work my schedule around it. I will go discuss it on TWoP. I will record the shows and rewatch it. I will be completely insane about watching it Exactly. When. It. Goes. On.

Therefore, I try not to get hooked on stuff. I'm kind of addictive that way.

Edited to add: Jeez! I can't have a post of mine mention KO :loveya: and not have floaty hearts in it! Omission remedied.

20. Are those floaty hearts because you love the show?
Or because you think Keith's hot?

I hardly EVER get to see my shows when they're on. Sometimes I end up with a week's worth of TDS to catch up on.

I do like the news style on "Countdown" -- somehow they manage to be slick and entertaining and also give us substance.

But, you know, KO -- sigh -- a man of brains, integrity, AND looks. Certainly wouldn't kick *him* outta bed for eating crackers. :loveya:

Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 01:23 PM by Skarbrowe
I still catch a little Tweety every now and then and Countdown for my only news source other than the internet. edited to add The Daily Show. Don't know how I forgot about that one.

Monday Waking the Dead on BBC.

Tuesday Judging Amy (hey I like it!) and L&O SVU

Wednesday LOST(my fave at the moment) West Wing and sometimes L&O

Thursday CSI Without a Trace and ER (still, although it's tanking)

Friday I try to watch Enterprise ( old habits die hard ) THIRD WATCH (love it)

Saturday Zilch ( hmmm, good name for a show )

Sunday sometimes 60 Minutes Cold Case

Cable and Premium shows when they are airing

Dead Zone (love it!)
Nip/Tuck
Carnivale
Sopranos
Queer as Folk
The L Word
Dead Like Me
Stargate 1
Stargate Atlantis (though it sucks)
Battlestar Galactica is coming up soon

Ok, that's a rough idea. Now I can vote a number.

And yes, I don't have a life.

18. Oh, HOW can you watch Nip/Tuck?!
I can't even *think* about the basic concept of that show without getting grossed out.

Of course, I once watched a real facelift on "The Operation" and I think that has scarred me for life.

29. I look away on the fake surgery scenes.
I didn't watch the show when it first came on for the very reason that you state. I have no interest at all in plastic surgery. It's the rare show that I watch for the complex relationship and chemistry between the two male leads. It also has some great music. Uh, Famke Jennsen might have a little to do with it. Just a little.

That's why I like shows like seinfeld, the simpsons, and law and order so much... it doesn't make a difference if you miss a week.

32. Only good sci-fi when it comes to shows
And not even current shows at that: X-Files, Star Trek TOS/NG, Twilight Zone several times a week. I also watch several shows on the Science channel's Tuesday night space lineup.

Deceiving though since I watch a lot of movies.

35. None
But just 'cause there's none I set aside time in my schedule for doesn't mean I don't end up watching my fair share of TV. I can watch pretty much any show about music on VH1 or whatever Congressional proceedings are going on C-SPAN if I'm trying to find something to keep me from working on whatever I should be working on. For a while when my sleeping schedule was turned around pretty crazy it was getting pretty bad there... I was nightly enjoying a two-hour block of "Family Ties", "Cheers", "The Brady Bunch", and "Happy Days" from 2-4 AM on TV Land! But, alas, I have recovered!
