She would have to be independent, very compassionate and caring, politically involved. In fact she should be a big time leftie activist like I am. Someone who reads Emma Goldman and likes Saul Alinsky when I loan her my copy of Rules for Radicals. I want someone laid back but organized. Someone hippie enough to wear tie-dye sometimes but not so hippie that she won't shower or shave her legs. Someone who appreciates music, plays an instrument and loves to travel like I do. She has to love the outdoors and is a better hiker than I am. She should be spiritually aware, whatever her beliefs are. She should be intelligent, challenge me intellectually, and always always support me. She should be able to argue and make a point without berating or insulting me. I want someone who will be loyal and on my side even when she has to tell me when I'm being stupid and wrong about something. She should also be outgoing enough to help me campaign for office and enjoy doing it. I want someone strong enough to take my place if I died in office like Jean Carnahan did. Not that I expect that to happen, I just want the kind of woman who would be capable of that. Someone who demands respect and shows me the same.
