Just wondering. I had my first public performance this past weekend at Bellyfest in Syracuse. It went well!

Also just got my ears pierced for the first time (at 45!) because in the scramble for costume jewelry, I discovered there ain't much in the way of clip-ons anymore.

Other dancers, would love to hear from you!

What is Bellyfest?

3. Bellyfest

is a big hafla in Syracuse (there are others all over the country). The organizers bring in some name dancer(s) to run a workshop, and dancers from the region come to perform. This year the name dancers were Neena and Veena (the Belly Twins).

I have a couple tapes and frequently check out some others from the library, but grad school prevents me from taking a class at the moment. I can't shimmy worth shit, but I love it nonetheless.
