Anyone seen the movie "Kinsey"?
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 08:51 PM by CornField
I just got a big ole rant e-mail from my fundie family about this one. Something about 90 minutes of filth... homosexuality... a "mockery of family values"

Sounds great, doesn't it?

----

On edit... as is typical with my family, this doesn't seem to be nearly as wild as they have indicated. Here's a link to an article about the film and the 'conservative' view of it: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/2920182

It's basically a biographical film about sex researcher Alfred Kinsey who died in 1956. The conservative groups want to blame Kinsey for pretty much everything from divorce to AIDS to child molestation.

One ironic note, the film is being distributed by Fox Searchlight (Murdoch).

1. If that's what it was really about ...

I'd totally be there! Seriously, though, I was wondering what all the fuss was about with the fundies and then it struck me ... from what I understand, Kinsey tried to study sex as a natural human behavior, no matter what form it took. That's what gets the fundies' undies in a bunch. That sex might be seen as natural instead of dirty and shameful.

5. You must remember that most of those raising a hue and cry
have likely never seen the film.

Let them wag.
