Who else is ready for a nap?
I'm winding down very quickly. I'll be nodding off on the El going home later today.

3. me too - gray dismal day here in Dallas
I feel like I have rings under the bags under the circles under my eyes (yawn).

And miles to go before I sleep, and promises to keep.

4. I didn't go in today. So I think I'll go upstairs......
open a book, and take a snooze. Just as soon as I finish this piece of Butter Cake w/Chocolate frosting.

11. I'm a sick slacker.
Not sure what's the matter with me. Sore throat. Couldn't sleep because coughing kept me up.

I shouldn't have gone to that Smoker on Friday night. I lost and I've felt like crap since.

I'm actually feeling much better today......

12. Smoker?
Not quite sure what you're talking about

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I've been sick since I don't know when, so I sympathize. I slept for over 13 hours on Friday night and spent the rest of the weekend on the couch. Hopefully, you'll get some rest and feel better tomorrow. Though, shouldn't you be sleeping and not posting on DU? ;-)

Now drink your juice and go to bed!

15. The Smoker an exercise in contradictions.......

It's sponsored by the Holy Name Society at the Catholic Church in the neighborhood I grew up in. I have a friend who lives a block away, so we meet at his house and get loosened up.

We then walk over to our old Grade School, pay $15 to get in to the gym. It's all the beer you can drink, all the delicious homemade Polish food you can eat. There are about 25 tables set up, each with a deck of cards. Then you play Poker....and smoke. And play Poker, and eat, and drink and smoke. Then at about 10 o'clock, about 20 pizzas are delivered. You take a break, eat some pizza and play Poker, drink some more and smoke. It breaks up around midnight. It's great.

We just play with quarters, though some pots got to be as large as about $10.

There you have it. Gambling, drinking and smoking at the same Catholic school gymnasium that we grew up in.

I'd like to see the Southern Baptists top that.

You're doing penance. You've had your fun and now you have to pay, it's the Catholic way, after all. If you'd just gone to confession and said a few Our Fathers, a couple Hail Marys and an Act of Contrition, this would have never have happened. }(

18. Last year I won $20. And donated my winnings to the Holy Name.
I hardly think I qualify for Penance. Then again, I've been doing Penance my whole life it seems.

17. Smoking in the school gym????
Wouldn't that have been ground for suspension back in 8th grade? 'Ster would have hauled your ass in front of the principal for that!

23. And here we thought we were damn uncivilized.....
When I got to high school, they expected us to play basketball by dumb girls' rules...and not the alley rules I was used to.

7. That would definitely be me
My children are trying to kill me. The 4- and 2-yr-old stayed up until almost 1 a.m. this morning! I had to yell and get ugly before they would stay in bed. *yawn*

9. Oh boy, I will have to slip into the shower without looking at my
bed, because if I look at my bed, the siren call of the furballs will lure me into their evil trap and I will once again be curled up on the waterbed, surrounded by purring, kneading, cuddling kitties.

They set this trap for me at least once a day, put me to sleep and then LEAVE ME!!!

14. Getting snoozational...
...trying to stay conscious...must...make...next...meeting...

...which fortunately is at Starbucks, so I can pile on the caffeine and sugar. As soon as I get done with this C2 Coke.

Definitely adding a snooze to my schedule once I'm back though.
