Is it just me...
...who finds it silly to have an inauguration for a President who's already there?

(Not as silly as one person being both the Nth and the (N+2)th President, though.)

1. No, I think it's silly too.
However, I suppose they HAVE to have the swearing in. The first swearing in is only good for one term, so they have to swear in the second term also.

2. Thay could include "for as long as I'm President" or something. (nt)

4. They could, except
Junior would take that as an invitation to get "elected" for life.

3. I'd prefer two actually, since then we keep in mind that they
are discrete periods.

6. I agree but I don't want this one cancelled
A lot of eggs and rotten tomatoes need to be thrown.

7. Second Inauguration should maybe be like "old-fashioned" second marriage??
Etiquette used to call for a more low key ceremony (and you didn't wear white...)

8. I think there should be some type of ceremony...
to work out the legal technicalities of the President actually being sworn in for a second term, but I don't think it should be as large or as orchestrated as a full-blown Presidential Inauguration.

Something small and tasteful.
