Some of us want to live in a pre-9/11 world, where terrorism is a fairly regular occurrence in our world, but not something that drives national policy. Think about that statement for a second before you flame me, please. We have always had terrorism, and we always will. Some of us want to tolerate it and press on.

On the other hand, there are those who think that 9/11 "changed everything." When they say that, they imply that 9/11 justifies a totalitarian regime, i.e. BushCo. That is the route we must not take. It's the fear that 9/11 generates that sustains the BushCo empire. Remember our hero, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who said:

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself."
