I'm just curious about who we are here at DU, racially. I'm Latino, although 'mutt' or 'mixed-race' would be more accurate--- Caribe, African, Spanish, etc., all mixed.

remember us? a brief pseudo-historical discourse on my ancestry:

you see, 2000 years ago we Germans used to run through the forest with our asses painted blue and run into battle nekkid. We were also the last of the pagans to stop human sacrifice - which we did as late as as 1100 AD, and probably a few times after that when no one was looking. The Bishop of Passau got ticked off at us for buying Christian slaves and sacrificing them, which brought the whole human sacrifice thing grinding to a halt. Too bad he posted his edict in Latin while making exception for pagan slaves, but we were all still a bunch of hairy illiterate bastards at the time so some of us didn't get the memo.

The running into battle nekkid thing didn't do so well against the Romans and they kicked our shiny blue asses around for a while for about a few hundred years, but we eventually rallied and drove them back out after that Jesus fellow came and went, after which we sacked Rome once or twice too for good measure.

A few hundred years later we had given up freeballing and body paint and discovered loincloths, hair gel and nipple rings but not before those damn Hun fuckers were riding around chopping peoples' heads off and raping pretty men with blue asses and of course the Gauls were continuously attempting to invade and then surrender, which only confused the hell out of everyone . . . :evilgrin:
