Update on YARD-CRAPPING CAT.
He STILL craps on my poor grass seedlings every day, digs them up and makes an overall mess.

I made him a litter box, I clean it out, but he won't use it. Spraying animal repellant didn't help at all. I'm at my wit's end.

I hate that stubborn cat.

3. How about a motion detector sprinkler?
Did you try that, yet?

(Google 'scarecrow sprinkler') They're expensive, but it works.

9. Looks cool. $44.95 and up on eBay
I think I may go with the chicken wire. That's a bit pricey for my blood...

4. Is it an outdoor litter box?
If not, maybe it should be. Seems he likes feeling the air on his toosh.

7. Yes, I set aside a corner of the yard with just dry sand.
Edited on Tue Nov-23-04 02:00 PM by UdoKier
I'm thinking of putting in gravel there, since the sand is hard to dig in when it's been rainy.

6. Try pepper as repellant
red pepper powder, or black pepper. Definitely a smell that sensitive noses don't like, and it isn't toxic.

10. I've done this to my dog
to keep him from sniffing/scratching/digging in certain areas and it works like a charm. I use cheyenne pepper. It's never seemed to hurt him. I think he can smell it from far enough away not to get a noseful.

8. One word: de-cat-pitation.
Put a little guillutine over the seedlings with a trigger wire under the dirt. You can buy all the supplies at Wal-Mart for under $10.
