Weird imagery you associate with particular songs
When I hear "Abacab" by Genesis I imagine a bunch of avocados doing line dancing. (Avocado in Portuguese is "Abacate")

1. I was just talking about his with my hubby last night!
My associations generally have to do with what was going on when the song was popular. For example, every time I hear a song from the Steve Miller album Book of Dreams, I think of the first Star Wars movie. They came out at about the same time, I listened to the album a lot and somehow they segued together for me.

Another one is the Bread song, "He's A Good Lad". I always associate that with the scene in Huckleberry Finn where Huck sees his friend Buck Grangerford shot down by the family they were feuding with - I must have had it on when I read that as a teenager and it stuck with me. I vividly see that scene every time.

2. Berlin's "Take My Breath Away"
is forevermore associated with an early-morning drive through the White Mountains outside of Tucson, decades before they got all burnt. Wish I had an actual photograph of that place that morning. Absolutely gorgeous.

4. Whenever i hear Red Barchetta i always see Joe Flaherty from SCTV
in his vampire outfit. When i saw them in 82 they had Joe up there on a huge screen introducing that song in full vampire costune after a character he did on SCTV.

5. "Wishlist" by Pearl Jam
I was on a train, having just taken some Dramamine to prevent general vomitousness, and was as a result floating in a out of a dozy state, and that song "Wishlist" by Pearl Jam was playing on my headphones, and there is that line..

"I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I could go off"

and in that instant, I had a weird dream/daydream that I was an egg, all ovally and white, and had gone off, gotten putrid, and was rotting all over the place.

yikes. the song never seemed quite so romantic after that.
