I don't think that was the purpose of the forum... but the limitations on who can participate in an ATA thread was supposed to prevent flame wars.

I think it's unfortunate that people use it to call out people, or injecting themselves into issues that ought not be their concern, or as a disagreement-free platform for making announcements or appeals.

I do think having a public ATA forum is helpful so that others can read and learn...without having to bug the admins and mods with the same questions over and over... and without making the same mistakes as others.

It is a bit frustrating to see it being 'abused' though.

Is that ATA is that much further down the list of forums. :D Seriously though, the admins are saints to put up with as much crap as they do in that place. Not everyone is a bastard in there, but enough are.

We don't allow these posts elsewhere for a reason. The mods and admin are tired of being attacked. We are volunteers here. We do not get paid to deal with the freepers and disruptors on this board. We do this because we love DU.
